Obama's Slippery Slope: America is Not Entitled to Exceptionalism

It was the1980s on the first day of class at Ohio State University. The professor of Labor Education and Research walked in and told his students the good news, "Everyone has an A!"  Which followed with the not so good news, "Now you have to do something."  In today's America, not only does everyone want the A, they are under the impression they DESERVE it.

Trophy Please

The term "American Exceptionalism" dates back to the 19th century.  The Marxists were perplexed by the fact that America was able to be so accomplished as an industrialized nation without a dictating government.  Americans did not need a "dictator."  They were driven by the virtue that hard work paid off.  Somewhere, that key element --that exceptionalism is earned, has been lost.  How is it with 101 million Americans on Food Stamps (approximately one-third of our population), that we should consider ourselves "exceptional"?

Putin States the Obvious

In response to President Obama's address to the American people of September 10, 2013, regarding the situation in Syria, Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin wrote, "A Plea for Caution From Russia -- What Putin Has to Say to Americans About Syria,"?  In his article, Putin makes valid points about America and its place in the world under current leadership of Obama.  It is indeed a "plea for caution" as Russia and America are attempting to disarm Syrian leader, Bashar al-Assad, of all chemical weapons.  It is also a cautionary tale as Putin advises America to act with grace and not arrogance.

The Exception

Clearly, our success has a nation had nothing to do with what is happening in Syria.  Furthermore, Syria has nothing to do with "exceptionalism."  Exceptionalism is more like the distance formula--distance=velocity x time.  The point being that "to go the distance," you will need to invest the time.  As Americans, we need to be willing to invest the time to protect the values that are behind what has made us great.

The American Constitution pertains to our own country, how it runs, and how it is defended.  Syria is not attacking us.  They are attacking each other.  This time, Syria is allegedly using sarin nerve gas versus conventional weapons such as bullets and bombs.  If we take away their chemical weapons, will they stop killing each other?

When is Killing Right?

It is ironic that Obama can taste the bombing of Syria yet strongly supports abortion.  Isn't killing children KILLING whether they are born or unborn?  Maybe it is just that the unborn can't see it coming.  As Putin states, "No matter how targeted the strikes or how sophisticated the weapons, civilian casualties are inevitable, including the elderly and children, whom the strikes are meant to protect."

Putin goes on to state, "...My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States' policy is "what makes America different. It's what makes us exceptional". It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord's blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal."

Who is Exceptional?

As blogger Wyatt Goodwin explains, "You see, in Communism, nobody is Exceptional -- which is why Putin said that calling anybody 'exceptional' is dangerous.  Putin knows of Obama's Communist under-pinning and the excoriation comes from the fact that Putin know Obama better than to think anyone is exceptional based on Obama's upbringing...So Obama must be wincing from Putin's comments because he knows he doesn't believe in 'American Exceptionalism' except as a comment to make us think he is on our side.   It was bold on Putin's part to speak the truth regarding power and exposing Obama as the person he really is -- a Communist.  The only person Obama thinks is exceptional is himself.  If you don't believe me, just ask him,"

Hoffa Can You Hear Me?

Teamster's Jimmy Hoffa was last seen in July,1975. An unsolved mystery, his remains were never found and his death has been open to speculation.
Today, a sealed search warrant was issued in Oakland County Michigan after a new tip proved worthy of investigation.

Villain or Hero?

Coincidence?  Is it an not so odd time for Hoffa to resurface after 38 years since his disappearance? On a seemingly weekly basis the Media moves from White House scandal to scandal without resolution. The most recent scandal involves the NSA (National Security Administration) and whistle-blower, Eric Snowden.  The question raised, "Is Snowden a villain or hero?"  The same could be asked of Hoffa.

Watergate to Benghazi Gate

Prior to the Obama Administration, the most famous was scandal was Watergate under former president, Richard Nixon (1969 - 1974).  The irony is that "Tricky Dick" was impeached for wire tapping, breaking into Democratic Headquarters and lying to the American people. In the 1970's this was a fresh concept versus current times just another day in the life of America.  Have our standards of integrity changed so much in the past 40 years that it is acceptable to run a country on lies? Are cover-ups like Benghaz,i acceptable?  Has America abandoned morality?

Blowing the Whistle

Snowden is on the run for stealing highly sensitive government information.  He is obviously so scared of what he knows that he fled to China. Does he know the details of Benghazi?  Does he know the level of which Joe Blows privacy is being invaded?  Does he know where Hoffa is buried?  Snowden knows enough to fear for his life as he stated in current interview.

Is the wire tapping of the democratic party by Richard Milhous Nixon's administration criminally equivalent to the IRS targeting conservatives by Barack Hussain Obama's administration? Only time will tell.  If Jimmy Hoffa can resurface, anything is possible.
